Sri Lanka’s beaches are nesting grounds for five species of marine turtle, and our conservation experiences connect guests directly with the hatcheries and community groups working to protect them. Visits typically include learning about conservation efforts, viewing hatchlings before release, and, in season, the rare chance to witness a nesting female or a hatchling release at dusk. These experiences are especially meaningful for families travelling with children. Activity level is low, and while turtles can be seen year-round at hatcheries, wild nesting is most common between April and July on the south-west coast.
